「猩々緋の兜」と「黒糸威の鎧」

'The Image' (Katachi) is a masterpiece of short fiction written by Kan Kikuchi in the Taisho period, depicting the absurd divergence between the authority of human appearance and inner substance. Nakamura Shinbei, a samurai who boasted invincible fame on the battlefield, was extremely famous for wearing 'a scarlet helmet' (shojohi no kabuto) and 'black-threaded armor' (kuroito-odoshi no yoroi), and enemies fled without fighting just seeing that figure, crying 'It's Shinbei!'
