One day, a wealthy warrior, Fujiwara no Toshihito, overheard Goi's mumbling and proposed, 'In that case, I shall treat you to yam gruel until you are full.' Goi happily followed Toshihito, but Toshihito ended up taking Goi all the way to Echizen Province, his own fief located far from Kyoto. Goi is astonished by the wealthy man's grand actions.
