すし屋(すしや)の放蕩(ほうとう)息子(むすこ)で、平家(へいけ)の落ち武者(おちむしゃ)の平維盛(たいらのこれもり)が隠れて(かくれて)いた

The story then shifts to the tragedy of 'Igami no Gonta', a reckless scoundrel (ne'er-do-well) of a sushi shop. Gonta had done bad deeds daily, such as stealing money from his parents, and was disowned. However, in his family's shop, Taira no Koremori, a fugitive warrior of the defeated Heike, was working while hiding his identity. When a search for Koremori begins under orders, Gonta's actions trigger a major tragedy.
