It was not for any special reason that I stepped into the grove on the mountain behind us that day, as I always do. I was simply making my way through the pathless woods to cut firewood when I suddenly felt a strange sensation underfoot. Deep inside the densely overgrown bamboo grove, a corpse lay on the ground. The sight of the man, stabbed once in the chest, was utterly gruesome, and I could not help but stand there frozen in sheer terror. Although there were signs of a struggle around him, there was not a trace of the culprit, and only a cold wind blew through.
