'The Buddhist Painter Yoshihide' (Ebusshi Yoshihide) is a peak classical masterpiece recorded in the 'Tales of Uji Collection' (Uji Shui Monogatari), a collection of tale literature compiled during the Kamakura period, depicting the obsession and madness of an artist under extreme conditions. A sudden fire broke out from the house of Yoshihide, an excellent Buddhist painter living in Kyoto during the Heian period, and the house burned up with terrifying force.
