Both 余 (よ, remaining/after) and 震 (しん, quake) are On'yomi. It refers to a smaller earthquake that follows a larger one in the same area, resulting from adjustments of the Earth's crust. Wrong readings like よけし or よしの completely misinterpret 震.

余（よ）と震（しん）は共に音読みです。本震の後に発生する、規模の小さな地震を指します。よけしやよしのなどは震の誤読です。
