「犍陀多(かんだた)」

'The Spider's Thread' (Kumo no Ito) is an immortal masterpiece written by Ryunosuke Akutagawa during the Taisho period, depicting human egoism and salvation through the contrast between heaven and hell. One morning, the Buddha, strolling by the edge of the lotus pond in heaven, caught sight of Kandata, a notorious robber struggling in the Pool of Blood at the bottom of hell below the pond.
