Both 撮 (take a picture) and 影 (image) use their On'yomi readings, さつ and えい. Misreadings like ざつえい or しゃつえい confuse 撮 with similar kanji like 写, or incorrectly add濁点. 撮影 is the act of recording images, whether still or moving, using a camera.
