Another highlight of the story is the revenge of the Heike general Taira no Tomomori. Thought to have died at the Battle of Dan-no-ura, Tomomori had actually survived, disguising himself as a shipping agent host at a port to target Yoshitsune. However, exposed by Yoshitsune, he was defeated after a fierce battle. Moved by Yoshitsune's noble warrior attitude, Tomomori bound a massive anchor around his own body and threw himself into the sea, meeting a tragic yet grand end.
