Late that night, Ohatsu and Tokubei slipped out of the shop secretly and walked through the night streets of Osaka holding hands. Where the two headed was 'the Forest of Ohatsu Tenjin in Sonezaki' located near the teahouse. This was a quiet, dense, and beautiful forest chosen as their final place (the place of their suicide).
