Through Jubei's obsession and blood-sweating efforts, a magnificent 'five-story pagoda' towering high into the sky was finally completed. The people of Edo stared in wonder at its perfect beauty, praising Jubei's talent. However, immediately after completion, the worst violent rainstorm (typhoon) in history struck the city of Edo. While surrounding temples and houses were blown down one after another, the five-story pagoda shook violently.
