Last month, the students in Class 3A started a new school project. The topic was "How to Protect Our Oceans." Their science teacher, Mr. Davis, showed them a video about sea animals. In the video, many sea turtles and birds were sick because they ate plastic bags and bottles. The students were very sad to see this, so they decided to do something to help. First, the students made posters about the problem. They put the posters on the walls around the school. The posters said, "Please bring your own bags when you go shopping," and "Do not use plastic straws." Second, they started a "Clean Up Day" at the local beach. On Sunday morning, thirty students and some parents went to the beach and picked up garbage. They found a lot of plastic bottles and old fishing nets. After the project, the students felt very proud. They learned that small actions can make a big difference. Now, many students in the school bring their own water bottles from home. Mr. Davis hopes that other classes will start similar projects next year.
