Last Order Call

Food & Drink Last Orders (ラストオーダー - Last Order)

Last Order Call

📖 Meaning & Etiquette

The standard closing notice at Japanese Izakayas. Approximately 30 to 60 minutes before closing (or 20 minutes before a Nomihōdai ends), a server will approach your table to take your absolute final drink and food orders.

💡 Cultural Background

Implemented to allow kitchen staff to clean grills and prepare final billing tabs, ensuring a smooth, organized checkout and departure process for all tables before the hard closing time.

When the server asks 'Drink Last Order desu ga, nika tsuika wa arimasu ka?' (It's last call for drinks, would you like to order anything?), order your final pint or closing noodle bowl. If done, reply: 'Daijōbu desu' (We are okay).

店員さんがラストオーダーを聞きに来たら、締めのデザートを頼みましょう。 / 飲み放題のラストオーダーでは、残っているグラスを飲み干してから注文してくださいね。
🔊 Let's order a closing dessert when the server comes over to take the last order. / For the all-you-can-drink last call, please finish your current glass before ordering the final one.
