英語の「unexpectedly」を日本語で表現する際、思いのほか と はからずも では明確なニュアンスの使い分けが存在します。
思いのほか は主に「おもいのほか (omoi no hoka)（N2）」として使われ、Indicates that something turned out differently or to a greater or lesser degree than one had anticipated. Can convey pleasant or unpleasant surprise.を指します。
