「Transfer」を日本語で使い分ける

英語の「transfer」を日本語で表現する際、乗り換える と 転移 では明確なニュアンスの使い分けが存在します。 乗り換える は主に「のりかえる (norikaeru)（N4）」として使われ、Specifically means changing from one vehicle (train, bus, plane, etc.) to another to continue a journey. Often used with the particle 「に」 for the destination line/route or 「で」 for the station/place. (電車やバス、飛行機などの乗り物から別の乗り物に移って、目的地へ向かうことです。「〜に乗り換える」「〜で乗り換える」のように使います。)を指します。 一方、転移 は「てんい (teni)（N2）」として使用され、Implies movement or transfer from one place/state to another. Notably used in medicine for cancer metastasis. Can also mean psychological transference. (ある場所や状態から別の場所や状態へ移ること。特に医学分野でがん細胞の「転移」として使われます。)を表現します。アメリカ人学習者が直訳で最も間違えやすいポイントですので、違いを意識しましょう。
