英語の「suitable」を日本語で表現する際、適当な と 相応 では明確なニュアンスの使い分けが存在します。
適当な は主に「てきとうな (tekitouna)（N3）」として使われ、Na-adjective. Has two major meanings: 1) appropriate/suitable (positive connotation). 2) careless/irresponsible/vague (negative connotation, very common in casual speech). Context is important.を指します。
