英語の「retirement」を日本語で表現する際、退職 と 定年 では明確なニュアンスの使い分けが存在します。
退職 は主に「たいしょく (taishoku)（N3）」として使われ、Refers to retiring or resigning from one's job/company. Can be used with する as a verb (退職する).
