英語の「respect」を日本語で表現する際、敬愛 と おもんじる では明確なニュアンスの使い分けが存在します。
敬愛 は主に「けいあい (keiai)（N3）」として使われ、Refers to holding someone in high esteem with deep respect and affection (often used toward teachers, mentors, seniors, or highly respected public figures). 一方、おもんじる は「おもんじる (omonjiru)（N2）」として使用され、To hold something in high regard, to consider it important or valuable. (ある事柄を価値あるものとして尊重したり、重要視したりする意味です。)を表現します。アメリカ人学習者が直訳で最も間違えやすいポイントですので、違いを意識しましょう。
