決定的なニュアンスの違い・使い分け
英語の「respect」を日本語で表現する際、尊重 と 敬う では明確なニュアンスの使い分けが存在します。
尊重 は主に「そんちょう (sonchou)（N3）」として使われ、As a noun, it refers to the act or feeling of holding something or someone in high regard, valuing their rights, opinions, or culture. It can also be used as a する verb (尊重する) meaning "to respect" or "to esteem." Often used in contexts of human rights, personal opinions, cultural differences, etc.を指します。
一方、敬う は「うやまう (uyamau)（N3）」として使用され、Refers to showing deep respect, honor, or reverence toward elders, teachers, ancestors, superiors, or gods.
