英語の「receive」を日本語で表現する際、もらいます と 受け取る では明確なニュアンスの使い分けが存在します。
もらいます は主に「もらいます (moraimasu)（N5）」として使われ、Used when the receiver (subject) receives something from the giver (indirect object, marked with から or に). Generally used for receiving from someone of equal or lower status. For superiors, いただきます (itadakimasu) is more appropriate.を指します。
一方、受け取る は「うけとる (uketoru)（N4）」として使用され、Means to take something that is given or sent. It implies physically taking possession. Can also mean to understand or interpret something.を表現します。アメリカ人学習者が直訳で最も間違えやすいポイントですので、違いを意識しましょう。
