決定的なニュアンスの違い・使い分け
英語の「look」を日本語で表現する際、調べる と 見劣り では明確なニュアンスの使い分けが存在します。
調べる は主に「しらべる (shiraberu)（N4）」として使われ、Used for looking up information (in a dictionary, on the internet), checking facts, or investigating a matter.を指します。
一方、見劣り は「みおとり (miotori)（N2）」として使用され、Used to describe something that appears less impressive or of lower quality when compared to others. Often used in the form 「〜に見劣りする」.を表現します。アメリカ人学習者が直訳で最も間違えやすいポイントですので、違いを意識しましょう。
