決定的なニュアンスの違い・使い分け
英語の「look」を日本語で表現する際、侮る と 見劣り では明確なニュアンスの使い分けが存在します。
侮る は主に「あなどる (anadoru)（N3）」として使われ、Refers to looking down on someone, underestimating their ability, mocking, or making light of a situation/enemy. 一方、見劣り は「みおとり (miotori)（N2）」として使用され、Used to describe something that appears less impressive or of lower quality when compared to others. Often used in the form 「〜に見劣りする」.を表現します。アメリカ人学習者が直訳で最も間違えやすいポイントですので、違いを意識しましょう。
