英語の「let」を日本語で表現する際、通す と 水に流す では明確なニュアンスの使い分けが存在します。
通す は主に「とおす (toosu)（N3）」として使われ、Refers to physical acts of letting thread pass through a needle, letting light pass, persisting in one's opinions/beliefs, or continuing a state until the end.
