英語の「hit」を日本語で表現する際、打つ と 当てる では明確なニュアンスの使い分けが存在します。
打つ は主に「うつ (utsu)（N4）」として使われ、A versatile verb with many uses. Can mean to hit something physically, to type on a keyboard, to take a photo, to hit a ball, to inject (a shot), etc.を指します。
一方、当てる は「あてる (ateru)（N3）」として使用され、Refers to actively hitting a physical target, exposing objects to the sun/wind, placing one's hand on a cheek, or guessing a riddle. Transitive verb.
