決定的なニュアンスの違い・使い分け
英語の「generally」を日本語で表現する際、概ね と 概して では明確なニュアンスの使い分けが存在します。
概ね は主に「おおむね (ōmune)（N2）」として使われ、Indicates that something is mostly true, correct, or complete, but with minor exceptions or details omitted. Similar to 「だいたい」 or 「ほとんど」, but often used in slightly more formal contexts.を指します。
一方、概して は「がいして (gaishite)（N1）」として使用され、Used when making a general statement or observation that is true for the most part, though there might be exceptions. Similar to 「一般的に言って」 or 「全体的に見て」. (例外はあるものの、全体的に見てそうである、という一般的な傾向を述べる際に使われます。)を表現します。アメリカ人学習者が直訳で最も間違えやすいポイントですので、違いを意識しましょう。
