英語の「essence」を日本語で表現する際、本質 と 神髄 では明確なニュアンスの使い分けが存在します。
本質 は主に「ほんしつ (honshitsu)（N3）」として使われ、Refers to the essence, true nature, substance, or core reality of something/someone, as opposed to outward appearances.
