英語の「entrance」を日本語で表現する際、玄関 と 入口 では明確なニュアンスの使い分けが存在します。
玄関 は主に「げんかん (genkan)（N5）」として使われ、The traditional Japanese entrance area where people remove their shoes before stepping up into the main part of the house. It often has a step separating the outer, dirtier area from the inner, clean living space.を指します。
