英語の「cool」を日本語で表現する際、冷やす と 冷ます では明確なニュアンスの使い分けが存在します。
冷やす は主に「ひやす (hiyasu)（N4）」として使われ、A transitive verb meaning to make something cold. The intransitive equivalent is 冷える (hieru). (何かを冷たくする他動詞。自動詞は「冷える」。)を指します。
