英語の「conjecture」を日本語で表現する際、推量 と 忖度 では明確なニュアンスの使い分けが存在します。
推量 は主に「すいりょう (suiryō)（N2）」として使われ、The act of guessing or estimating something based on available information, often implying a degree of uncertainty or an educated guess.を指します。
一方、忖度 は「そんたく (sontaku)（N1）」として使用され、Often used when anticipating unspoken wishes or intentions and acting to fulfill them, sometimes without being asked. Can have a slightly negative connotation of excessive deference.を表現します。アメリカ人学習者が直訳で最も間違えやすいポイントですので、違いを意識しましょう。
