英語の「approximately」を日本語で表現する際、およそ と 頃 では明確なニュアンスの使い分けが存在します。
およそ は主に「およそ (oyoso)（N3）」として使われ、Similar to 約 (yaku) or くらい (kurai) but often used for larger, less precise estimations of quantity or time. Can also mean 'generally'.を指します。
一方、頃 は「ころ/ごろ (koro/goro)（N3）」として使用され、Used to indicate an approximate time or period. 「頃」 is usually ころ after a noun (e.g., 子供の頃 - kodomo no koro), and ごろ after a specific time (e.g., ３時ごろ - san-ji goro). Can also mean 'around the time when...'.を表現します。アメリカ人学習者が直訳で最も間違えやすいポイントですので、違いを意識しましょう。
